CINCI Living!

I had a blast this past Memorial Day weekend. Memorial Day unofficially marks the beginning of summertime heat, Summertime being played on the radio a gazillion times and summer festivals! The three day weekend is perfect for cookouts, graduation cookouts, pool parties and FUN! I traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio for my good friend’s medical school graduation. She’s been living in Cinci for four years and this is the first time I have visited her there. I was  supposed to go last year but I didn’t. I sure regret that because there was only so much I could do and see on my short visit. I fell in love with the city but now she’s leaving. 😦 However, I learned a valuable lesson or two.

  1.  Just because you’ve been to a certain state before or you think it’s boring, still take the time to visit. ESPECIALLY if you have a friend to visit there. They can show you around and show you a different side. I had been to Columbus, Ohio a couple of times in high school but those trips don’t even compare to my recent trip. In my opinion, Columbus and Cincinnati are really different.
  2. Make time for your friends and just live a little this summer! Vacation doesn’t necessarily mean leaving the country. The good ol US of A has plenty of states and cities to visit. 🙂 ❤

The graduation was nice and inspiring. I am so happy to see my dear friend’s hard work pay off by God’s grace!  And it was just great to spend time with her and her sister. They’re my favorite “twins” and they crowned me the  “3rd twin” over the weekend. That would make us triplets then, *giggles*.  Below are some pics via my iPhone. I can’t wait to buy a real camera. I heard the Cannon T3i is good for photography beginners so I am thinking about purchasing it.

The flight was about one hour. My kind of flight!! I just love window seats ❤

Sidenote: This was my FIRST ever domestic flight. I usually travel state to state by car or train {just once}. Domestic flights are less stressful than international flights. Plus, I really liked not having to carry my passport with me. My driver’s license and boarding pass was sufficient. I loved that!

Up in the cloudsMy friend ‘s apartment is on the 7th floor and the view was so pretty.

photo(47)The struggle to pin that cap down with bobby pins was kind of real.  Isn’t her natural hair beautiful though? She used a curling wand that morning and had blow-dried her hair beforehand. The curls lost some of their definition/hold throughout the day but as her hair got bigger, it got even cuter! The compliments were rolling in. #BigHairDontCare

Paparazzi or NAH? (If you’ve read/followed this blog long enough, then you already know I am a certified creep  love taking pics. 🙂 ) She was giving me Tracee Ellis Ross big hair fierce {see comparison pic below}!

And the cap struggle continues! I accidentally knocked it off her head twice that day. 😦

But you already know I was LOVING the necklace action below!

Taste of Cincinatti {YUM}

Graeter’s ice cream! Oprah declared in 2002 that Graeter’s was the best ice scream she ever tasted!  We got salted caramel and had them crack the cone in it. This is Sheila’s ice cream but we got the same thing. I had already inhaled mines. #YUMMerZ

We could see Kentucky from the view in the first two pics!
