LAID Edges

This video is so funny to me!! I love Evelyn from the Internets because she absolutely cracks me up. I must say that I am about that laid edges life. I used to like them laid for the gods but now I just like them laid. However, like Evelyn said in the video, I don’t dabble in the baby hair arts. However, I have used a toothbrush on my edges…lol  Don’t judge me because sometimes it does the job without the harshness of the brush bristles (side eye). The only thing that lays my edges is Hicks Edges. I started using it last summer because one of my favorite natural hair bloggers Alex, from The Good Hair blog was raving about it. I’ve been following the TGHB for years so I take Alex’s product raving very seriously. She is honest and sincere 🙂  So last summer, before I attended my co-workers wedding, I really needed a product to lay my edges for the gods. I adore summer {my FAVORITE season} but the heat and humidity was killing my laid edges game and I really needed them laid for this July wedding. I picked up Hicks Edges and I’ve been rocking with it ever since!

I think I paid about $16.oo for it last summer. Alex did mention that it was pricey but that it was really good. Why in the WORLD, did I purchase it this past Sunday for a whopping $18.20?!?! I don’t think that price included taxes either!!! Cray cray! The price has definitely increased from last summer. In my defense, it was raining on Sunday and I wasn’t about to go on a wild goose hunt for a cheaper price at another location. However, the next time I will make sure to find a another beauty supply store that sells it for less. I think I read somewhere online awhile back where someone stated they paid about $14.00 for it. Either way, I am going to stop giving this particular beauty supply store my hard earned dollars because everything in there is ridiculously overpriced! Anywho, the damage has been done but clearly I’m still all up in my feelings and quite salty 😦 I haven’t even used the Hicks for my edges since I purchased it on Sunday. I used it only for the middle of my hair in order to lay down my fly away hairs. I don’t think my edges need it since I just blow-dried my hair and haven’t been to the gym AND I’ve  been wearing a scarf since Monday, underneath my beret. I am cold! Having laid edges to me isn’t the end all be all though. I am just happy to have edges because these edges RIGHT HERE have been to hair hell and back. So I am grateful to God for them..lol
