Bantu Knot Twist Out

photo(1)

I was inspired by one of my favorite YouTube ladies Jouelzy, to do a bantu knot twist out for my birthday yesterday!  On Wednesday evening, my sister in law blow dried and trimmed my hair. She said my ends were really bad and the worst she has ever seen them. They were pretty bad and my hair was shedding like crazy prior to the trim. Anywho, I went to Target and purchased As I am Naturally Twist Defining Creme. When I got home I parted my hair, sprayed it with a mixture of water and left over Shea Radiance Hair Milk,, put the twist defining creme on each piece of hair, twisted and then sealed my ends with  Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil. After I twisted my hair, I rolled it into bantu knots.  When I was done my whole head, I put a satin cap on and went to bed. The next morning my hair was still damp so I sat under my hooded dryer for a little bit on the low setting {I didn’t want crunchy hard hair}.

I was pleased with my hair even though my BFF told me I looked like a politician.#SHADE..lol

This is what I used to twist my hair, purchased at Target. I think I put too much of this creme on some parts of my hair because once my hair was dried, I saw a little white residue. Not too much but enough to let me know to go easy with the creme next time.

I was going for these looks below, that curly fluffy fro look.

Have you ever done a bantu knot twist out? What products did you use? Please let me know in the comments.

Thank you for reading and God bless you ❤

  1. I love your site! And bantu knot outs are my go to hairstyle! Mainly because they are so easy to do. When I do them, I usually dampen my hair with a little water mixed, then add Hair Rules Kinky Curling Cream before smoothing on a little shea butter.

    • I am glad you do! Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I really appreciate it. And yes bantu knots are such a great go to hairtsyle. Thanks for sharing your process and products 🙂
